Happy Friday all!!!
After having pneumonia in January I knew I need to make a few changes in my life and eliminating as much stress as possible from my life became a priority. I tend to worry and stress unnecessarily about things that I cannot change, at least not at this time in my life. Unfortunately, we all have stress in our lives and it is how we deal with this stress, whether it stems from work or home, we need to take a good look at the situation and not allow it to cause us undue stress.
I know, easier said than done, but take it from me, it can be done. I made the decision in January to not allow stress into my life. I decided that I would not allow things I cannot change or control bring me to the point where I felt like I was going scream! Have I eliminated all the stress from my life??? Absolutely not. Have I changed the way I deal with stress 90% of the time??? Absolutely.
To see my specific tips on how I deal with work stress, that you can apply anywhere in your life not just to work, check out my post on Real Health.
Don’t allow stress to take over your life and make you sick. Take control and decide not to let the uncontrollable control you. As cliché as it sounds my mantra is, “This too shall pass”. Running again is also a big help for me in the stress department!!! I returned to my racing team, We Are Athletes, this week and it was awesome!
It is a big stress reliever to run with a group of like minded people that support each other no matter how fast you go!!! If you are on Long Island and are a runner, you definitely need to come on down to a practice, you won’t regret it.
What are your tips for dealing with stress in your daily life?
